  F0173_0013.jpg - I realized just in time that the pier needed to be off center in order to keep the scope centered. That moved hole away from the tap root somewhat; but not enough to clear it. So I chopped away at the tap root until it was low enough. Had to do this by hand because I couldn't find a stump grinder that would work in a deep hole.
